Messages and consent (CASL)
Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) sets rules for commercial electronic messages. Here’s how Cadence follows them, and how it helps the businesses that use it follow them too.
Messages from Cadence
- Sign-in codes, receipts and messages about your account are sent because you need them to use Cadence.
- We send other emails about Cadence only to people who signed up, asked us to contact them, or otherwise gave consent the law recognizes.
- Every one has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it promptly, always within 10 business days.
Messages businesses send through Cadence
- When clients join a business’s app, they choose whether to get offers from it. The box starts unticked.
- Promotional notifications only go to clients who ticked it. Messages about their account, like their welcome, go to everyone who turned notifications on.
- Every message comes from the business’s own app, under its name.
- Clients can stop notifications at any time in their phone’s settings, or by asking the business.
- The business is responsible for what it sends and for the consent it relies on.
